Congratulations to our 2023 Scholarship Winners
KPMG Karearea Scholarships:
Tu’amelie Fatai
Sione Fatai

The safety of all our students and staff is non-negotiable at EHS, so we appreciate the enthusiasm of a new team of Years 6 & 7 who are currently undergoing training.
Following their training with Constable Agape, the selected trainees are rostered at the Hunua Road pedestrian crossing with a few Year 8’s as tuakana-teina for the next three weeks. Will share the revised roster soon. Kia kaha team!

I’m super proud of our Years 7&8 for representing EHS so well at the FYFOD Sports Camp, held at Camp Adair in Hunua during the last week of Term 3, 2023. While I fell sick during the camp week, I knew that our Years 7&8 would do well given the many hours we had put into the practices leading up to the camp in September. Congratulations once again. Nga mihi atu to all parents and whanau for your ongoing support. And a special mention to my colleagues Lorraine M and Ellen S for taking our teams on our behalf.

ONLY ONE WEEK to go before Sports Camp from Monday 18 to Friday 22 Sept. 2023
Teams have been finalised, and if your name is down for a sport, make sure to turn up to the final practice sessions this week and next week.
THURS 8 SEPT: AFTER-SCHOOL PRACTICES for VOLLEYBALL, TENNIS, & BADMINTON

Remember to pack comfortable tights or stretchy pants/shorts so your movements aren’t restricted during sporting activities.
Also, it’s all about teamwork, and team effort, from start to finish. Time means points.
So be positive and keep encouraging each other throughout the day.

This week’s theme is Self-Control, and the timing is great.
Given this time of the year, the students can generally get a bit restless however, being reminded about maintaining self-control as senior students of the school is essential.
As we continue to work collaboratively in preparation for our Sports Camp in two weeks’ time, we must remember to control our words and actions as we foster manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, and rangatiratanga on and off the field.
Another engaging KiwiCan session of Tik-tak-toe, so thanks to Here & Chelle for one of the many fun & active sessions with R11.
